Laurence began the evening by playing a tune of his own to a backing track, which was
both fast and funky. Everyone was glued as the time signature changed with stops all
over the place, but the master of the bass guitar played so effortlessly, with a curious
smile on his face throughout. After the song had finished Laurence asked straight off if
anyone had any questions. After a little banter from the master the questions started to
come, from an initially shy audience.

When the questions stopped, Laurence was joined by the head of guitar (John
Wheatcroft) and the head of Drums (Darryn Farrugia) and then we were treated to a
string of live music including the funk sounds of 'Water Melon Man', 'Giant Steps' in a
Latin mood and some Jazz bee-bop.

All musicians played outstandingly and had immense fun playing. Thanks Laurence for
a great evening of music...till next time.
